Tell us what you think about the new riverfront greenspace!

This area is a test project created by Main Street Skowhegan to get the community excited about riverfront development. Thanks to the Kennebec Valley Board of Realtors for funding and volunteer efforts, Wentworth Partners for purchasing the Adirondack chairs, The Bankery & Skowhegan Fleuriste for donating flowers, and the many volunteers who made it possible!

Pedestrian Safety Test Projects

In 2022, Skowhegan hosted the Build Maine Conference on June 8 + 9, and as part of the conference, the Build Maine team and Main Street Skowhegan’s Village Design Committee installed pedestrian safety test projects. Tell us what you think about the test projects by filling out this survey

Crosswalk painting

Crosswalks located around Skowhegan’s rotary have been painted blue and white to help slow traffic and make it safer for pedestrians to cross the street.

Bollard Separation

Bollards (white post-type things) have been installed along the fog lines (not in the travel lane) at the edges of select crosswalk bumpouts to help slow traffic and create space between cars and pedestrians.
